A few days ago, a donkey was almost about to drown in a flooded river in Killorglin, Ireland, after being spotted by Suzanne Gibbons, who shared this story on her Animal Heaven Animal Rescue (AHAR) Facebook page asking for help.
Fortunately, after reading Suzanne’s messages, Mike Fleming of the Killorglin rowing club acted out to save the donkey, coming along with his boat. Mike helped to safely rescue the donkey by pulling it out of the water with a rope and a life-saver.
The donkey, after being safely saved from drowning in the dangerous flood, surprised everyone with a big smile!

Sadly, Suzanne, the woman who spotted it, couldn’t rescue him because she didn’t possess a boat nor could swim
Fortunately, Mike Fleming of the Killorglin rowing club came along with his boat to help
Mike successfully pulled the poor donkey out of the water with a rope and a life-saver
The donkey broke into a smile straight away!

“He is now dried with towels, eating a hot mash, all cozy and warm”
“Our vet has seen him and started him on antibiotics to prevent pneumonia”
“He has a small bit of fluid in one lung but our vet said he will recover”
