Our whole economic system is based on consumption. The more stuff we buy, the more the economy grows. And so from almost the day we are born, society urges us to consume without end, no matter the negative consequences that this might have on our personal, cultural, and environmental well-being. And if we don’t follow by the rules, the economy is bound to fall and collapse.
Perhaps it’s time to see that our current socio-economic model is not viable and that an urgent restructure of it is needed.
